Are Meghan Markle and Harry struggling with increasingly tight finances?

Hanoi [Vietnam], November 4: Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's financial situation continues to attract attention as the couple enters a turbulent period, The Mandatory reported on November 3.
The move to England, changes in business agreements, and new developments in their careers have raised questions about Prince Harry and his wife's ability to maintain their lavish lifestyle . Despite having signed numerous multi-million dollar contracts, affording their expensive lifestyle is reportedly becoming increasingly difficult.
Business operations are gradually shrinking.
One sign that Harry and Meghan Markle 's business ventures are undergoing significant changes is the situation at Archewell Productions, the content production company they founded and run. This company is behind many of the television and content projects the couple has undertaken since stepping down as senior members of the British Royal Family.
According to media reports, Archewell Productions has reduced its staff over the past 12 to 18 months. This downsizing comes as the partnership between Harry, Meghan Markle, and Netflix is also undergoing significant changes. In August 2025, Netflix is reportedly no longer maintaining its valuable exclusive agreement with the Sussexes, instead adopting a "first look" model. Under this model, Netflix has priority consideration of new projects from Harry and Meghan Markle before they can explore other partners.
Not only their content production activities, but Harry and Meghan Markle's philanthropic endeavors are also reportedly scaling back. Archewell Philanthropies, the charity founded by the couple to implement community and social projects, has also cut some of its staff by December 2025.
Legal expenses are also putting additional pressure on Prince Harry and his wife's finances. Following their legal defeat in July in the lawsuit involving Associated Newspapers, Harry and several other celebrities involved in the case could face costs of up to $45 million. However, some of these costs may be covered by insurance.
The high spending levels are putting additional pressure on the Sussexes' finances.
