Illuminated decorations, singing, dancing, drama: Poila Baisakh festivities take over WB

Siliguri (West Bengal), April 15 (ANI): With West Bengal’s Siliguri celebrating Poila Baisakh, Bengali New Year, Baghajatin Park witnessed all kinds of festive vibes on April 14. From twinkling lights to painted streets and from plays to group singing, the city welcomed the new year in the most mesmerizing ways. The joy on the faces of the people enjoying the celebrations was the testimony of the fun the city was experiencing. Different cultural organizations headed by a popular cultural group of Siliguri, Archak, carried the cultural festivities on their shoulders. Expressing views on importance of celebrating one’s culture, a visitor opened up about the celebration. Admiring the ongoing festivities, the Archak organiser also spoke on the event. Poila Baisakh is celebrated in several Indian states including WB, Tripura, Assam, and more on April 15.
