“Not going to permit any piracy…”: Indian Navy Chief’s stern message amid piracy threats in Red Sea

New Delhi, Jan 18(ANI): Amid growing tensions in the Red Sea, Indian Navy Chief Admiral R Hari Kumar on January 18 said that the Indian Navy will protect national interests. Talking to ANI, R Hari Kumar said that the job of the navy is to protect, preserve, promote and pursue national interests of Bharat in the maritime domain. He went on to say that the Indian Navy will not permit any piracy to happen in the Red Sea.
Indian Navy Chief Admiral R Hari Kumar said "We have deployed to ensure that our national interests, the maritime domain are preserved, protected, promoted and pursued. We have our deployments. We have two ongoing operations. One anti-piracy operation and one anti-drone support for merchant shipping. Both these operations are underway...The job of the navy is to ensure that we protect, preserve, promote and pursue national interests of Bharat in the maritime domain. We’re not going to permit any piracy to happen..."
