The reigning Miss World shows off her beauty in a traditional Vietnamese dress in Quang Ninh

Hanoi [Vietnam], August 14: Opal Suchata Chuangsri showcased her beauty alongside international contestants at the opening night of Miss World 2026 in Quang Ninh. The reigning Miss World captivated attention in a graceful ao dai (traditional Vietnamese dress) paired with her iconic crown, highlighting her elegant and radiant beauty.
On the evening of August 12th, Opal Suchata Chuangsri, along with the Miss World organization and 111 international contestants, gathered at the opening ceremony of the 73rd Miss World competition held on the shores of Ha Long Bay (Quang Ninh).
Appearing before 10,000 spectators at the event, along with a large number of beauty pageant fans watching the competition live, the Thai beauty queen wore a dark blue ao dai (Vietnamese traditional dress) and a flowing matching cape. She paired the traditional Vietnamese attire with an elegant, classic updo hairstyle and wore the iconic blue crown of the competition, highlighting her graceful, feminine charm and sweet, captivating beauty.
During the Q&A session, Opal Suchata Chuangsri greeted the audience warmly in Vietnamese, thanking them for the thoughtful welcome she received in Quang Ninh and Vietnam in general. The 23-year-old beauty queen hoped her Vietnamese would sound good and said she would try to improve it in the future. The 2003-born beauty queen shared that she was very excited that the 73rd Miss World competition was being held in Vietnam and that the first location the competition visited was Quang Ninh, home to a World Heritage site. Before the opening ceremony, Opal and the other contestants toured the city and enjoyed a boat trip on Ha Long Bay.
"As I often say, whenever we work with the Miss World Organization, we are a bridge, a window for the world to see the beauty in all the places we visit. And I am very honored that Vietnam will be the country to continue the legacy of Beauty with a Purpose , a mission that is important to the Miss World Organization, Julia Morley, and myself. I hope we will have a wonderful time here," the reigning Miss World expressed.
In addition to sightseeing and exploring the scenic spots and heritage sites in Quang Ninh and preparing for the opening ceremony, Opal Suchata Chuangsri, along with Miss World 2021 Karolina Bielawska, Mr World 2024 Danny Mejía, and the Miss World 2026 contestants, also participated in a charitable activity on August 9th. They took part in the " Giving Smiles, Spreading Love" program at the Quang Ninh Provincial Social Assistance Center, distributing 75 gifts to underprivileged children. This program is part of the opening activities of Miss World 2026 in Vietnam, organized according to the Miss World organization's "Beauty With A Purpose" theme.
Following the opening night, Opal Suchata Chuangsri, along with the organizing committee and 111 contestants, traveled to Hai Phong. According to the previously announced schedule, they participated in the contestant announcement and name tag presentation on August 13th, as well as several preliminary rounds, and the Vietnam Beauty Fashion Fest show on August 18th. From August 21st to September 5th, they will all focus on activities in Khanh Hoa.
On the evening of September 5th, Opal Suchata Chuangsri will hand over her crown to her successor at the Miss World 2026 finals.
