President of Chandpur Press Club passes away

Dhaka (Bangladesh), Aug 8: The president of Chandpur Press Club passed away undergoing treatment at a hospital in the capital early Saturday.
The namaz-e-janaza of the deceased Ikram Khan, 55, is set to be held around 4pm on the premises of Chandpur Press Club and another such a congregation will be held on the field of Chandpur Government College.
Sharif Choudhury, younger brother of the late journalist, confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune.
The journalist is survived by his wife, a daughter and a son. He was suffering from diabetes, kidney disease, and a few other complications for a long time, said Sharif.
Ikram was a government employee before he became a journalist. He spent about 30 years in journalism in different media outlets including in Channel i, Jagonews24, and a local daily Chandpur Darpan.
Journalists, administrative persons, and cultural activists expressed deep sorrow at his death.
