Plane carrying 15 people skids off runway in US

Washington [US], July 3: A Cessna 208B plane skidded off the runway in New Jersey (USA) on July 2, injuring 15 people.
ABC News reported that authorities received a call at around 5:30 p.m. local time on July 2 reporting the accident. The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said there were 15 people on board the Cessna 208B at the time it skidded off the runway .
The incident occurred at Cross Keys Airport in Gloucester County, New Jersey, USA. A representative of Cooper University Hospital ( New Jersey ) said that 15 victims were taken to the hospital with various injuries.
According to hospital information, 3 people are being diagnosed, 8 people with less serious injuries are being treated in the emergency department, and the remaining 4 people have minor injuries. Further details on the victims' conditions are not yet available.
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the accident.
Images from the scene showed the plane crashed into a wooded area near the runway. CBS News reported that Cross Keys Airport is privately run and is a popular place to learn to skydive.
Gloucester County authorities also posted a notice on social media asking people to stay away from the accident area so ambulances and police could access the scene.
The incident has raised concerns about aviation safety in the US, as there have been many incidents and accidents in the country in the first 6 months of this year. On June 29, a plane in Ohio crashed a few minutes after takeoff, killing 6 people on board, according to USA Today.
