The reunion between Phuong Anh Dao and Tuan Tran
Speaking to us about her collaboration with Tuan Tran, Phuong Anh Dao said that she and her colleague are telling a different story from Mai . While previously they portrayed a couple who had to overcome many obstacles and barriers from family and society, in " Heaven's Gift ," they come together through an ironic and unexpected situation. "With this collaboration, I feel satisfied with the messages that my team and I have put together to serve the audience during Tet," she said.
After playing emotionally demanding roles with less-than-happy endings, Phuong Anh Dao longed to embody a character with a different fate, one who was loved and supported by others. And Ngoc - a single mother in " Heaven's Gift" - was exactly what the actress was looking for. She emphasized: "This character has new aspects that allow me to hone my skills and reconnect with the audience after a break. I listened to the director's feedback, observed my surroundings, watched films. to find material to create Ngoc on the big screen."
Speaking about the pressure of "creating an impact" when reuniting with Tuan Tran, Phuong Anh Dao said that in each project, what she hopes for is to learn new things and bring something different. When coming to " Heaven's Gift ," the 9X actress also had to "weigh the pros and cons of how the two of us will perform this time with everyone's love." However, the beautiful actress believes: "The only thing that can be certain is how much effort I put in, how well I do my job professionally, while other issues depend on my collaboration with everyone and the way the team 'cooks' it up."
Speaking further about Tuan Tran, Phuong Anh Dao affirmed that she likes working with people who have strong personalities. Because of this, she anticipated disagreements would arise during the collaboration. However, the 9X actress believes that what matters is the purpose of those disagreements.
"I find it wonderful to have a friend who gives me feedback to correct my shortcomings and weaknesses along the way. In this film industry, I have such a friend to look up to each other's efforts and motivate each other in our work," the actress added.
Because they often argue on set, Phuong Anh Dao jokingly says, "After this project, we should probably avoid each other for a while, because it's hard to get along." However, their relationship always returns to normal. Phuong Anh Dao further shared that in the future, if she has the opportunity to work with Tuan Tran again, she hopes they can bring a new dimension to their work. The actress gave an example: "If we're both on the same side, the audience will find it too predictable. I think we should be rivals, or one of us should play the villain."
Regarding the competition with Tran Thanh - the director of the film Mai - in the Lunar New Year film race, Phuong Anh Dao views it with an open mind. According to her, this is a way for colleagues in the industry to support the film market, not a confrontation. "During the premiere of 'Treasures from Heaven,' Tuan Tran and I invited Tran Thanh to watch, hoping to receive his feedback. In a way, I am very grateful to Tran Thanh because ' Mai' helped me gain more love from the audience. When '
learn from and support each other," she stated frankly.
Regarding the title "screen goddess," Phuong Anh Dao believes it comes from the love of the audience. The actress herself doesn't put pressure on herself beyond professional performance. "When I step onto the film set, the first thing I do is fully immerse myself in the character. And with my professional aspirations, I hope to have a role that is different from anything I've experienced before," she expressed.
