6 killed in Tangail road accident

Dhaka (Bangladesh), December 4: At least six people have been killed and five others injured in a road accident on Dhaka-Tangail highway in Mirzapur upazila of Tangail.
The accident took place in Kurni area on Friday morning.
Three of the deceased have been identified as Chunnu Miya, the driver's assistant of the truck, Sirajul Islam, 31, and Ashraful Islam, 34, all of whom hails from Rangpur's Pirganj upazila.
The identities of the other victims could not be known immediately.
Gorai highway police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mozaffar Hossain said a Dhaka-bound bus of Seba Classic Paribahan from Rangpur went out of order after it reached Kurni.
It was parked beside the road for repairs while passengers got off the bus and stood nearby it.
At the moment, a speeding Dhaka-bound truck laden with vegetables hit the bus from behind, leaving four people dead on the spot, the OC said.
The injured were rushed to different hospitals and two of them died at Kumudini Hospital, he said.
Several of the injured are in critical condition, he added.
